BSB07 Business Services Training Package

Business services was one of the first training packages in Australian competency-based VET system and continues to be one of the most popular.
The business services sector forms a significant part of the Australian economy and maintains strong job prospects.

BSB07 provides training for a range of occupations that support the commercial activities of businesses and organisations. Amongst some of the important skills gained through business services training is IT literacy, financial literacy, business acumen, innovation, occupational health and safety (OHS), people management and employability skills.

A note on occupational health and safety

The Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act is due to come into effect on 1 January 2012, at which point the standard preferred terminology will change from "occupational health and safety/OHS" to "work health and safety/WHS".

Aspire has used "occupational health and safety/OHS" throughout this resource, to reflect the terminology currently used in the associated unit of competency. This usage will be amended once the relevant training package has been updated in line with the implementation of the new national legislation.

Where appropriate, we have made reference to the new national WHS legislation in addition to existing OHS legislation.
